When setting up a new web site or blog it is tempting to look for free web service hosting. Is this a good way forward or is it better to pay for hosting? If your site or blog is personal and the performance of the host is not important then free hosting may be a viable way forward. However if your site is for business purposes you should take a paid service.

Free web service hosting is available for a number of reasons. The service might be financed by advertising (which means that ads will be placed on your site), it might be provided free with some other service, it might be a very basic service offered by a hosting company (who assume that you will soon upgrade to a paid service) and it some cases it actually is free (but don’t expect a great service).

However reputable the supplier you cannot expect a free service to provide the level of service you would get from a paid supplier.

Limitations – There may be low restrictions on the amount of diskspace, bandwidth, domains, databases, email accounts and FTP accounts.

Speed – Your pages may load slowly if there is too much competition for the available resources. People have been known to misuse free services for operations such as sending spam which, as well has hogging resources, could lead to your site being associated with such activities (as you share the IP address).

Reliability – Paid hosts will guarantee 99.9% uptime so that you site can almost always be found (nobody can offer 100% uptime). The priorities of a free service may be different or they may simply not have technical support outside office hours.

Support – This is a significant cost so you may find that support is only provided by email with limited, or no, response outside office hours. With a paid host you would expect proper technical support by telephone 24/7.

If you decide to go for free web service hosting the safest option is to go with one of the hosting companies that provide a free basic package (as the last three items above should not apply to them). You can then easily upgrade to paid hosting when necessary, although you should check that their paid hosting plans are competitively priced.

As an alternative to hosting you could also consider using a free service such as WordPress.com or Blogger.com (where you can use your own domain name) or you could have your own “site” on sites like Squidoo or Wetpaint. These are reputable sites where the limitations of the service are clear.

Despite all the free options that are available I would still say that if you are serious about establishing a presence on the web you will be best served by getting a paid service at the outset.

You will certainly see ads all over the internet saying to you that you can make thousands overnight, no website needed, no product needed and the money will just keep rolling in.

Well if your going to take on this train of thought than its apparent that your not looking for a true and real online business but searching for a quick fix, get rich quick scheme.

I guess my question is why would you not spend the poultry amount monthly that it takes to have a hosting account, that will give you the tools to build your own website for free? I use a web host that only charges $19.95 a month and the benefits far out weigh the expenditure. It wasn’t necessary for me to utilize their web site tools because of the package I own already but their tools and templates are great.

By not fully utilizing the full power of the internet to gain the kind of visibility that a thriving web business needs will result in lost revenue and lots of it. The idea is not to survive but thrive on this thing we call an internet business, and I am going to jump right back on the proper foundation bandwagon. To build your own website is part of that foundation of creating a real online venture and if you look at any of the top marketers they without doubt have their own sites and some have 50 to 100 sites.

Having effective systems in place for attracting visitors, providing information, selling products and services and following up, regardless of whether your market reach is local, regional, national or international, a strong Internet presence and a website is the only way you can make the difference between success and failure for countless types of businesses.

Whatever it is your attempting to pursue online you’ll want your customers to have a place to come back to. Look at it from your habits of purchasing and all the things you do in the purchasing cycle and simply apply these thought processes when you build your own website.

Most people today when they consider how they are going to buy or what they are going to buy no longer whip out the phone book and look up anything it’s straight to the computer to dig it up first. So if no site exist where are they going? To your competition that’s where.

So to conclude, don’t listen to those ads that are telling you can make thousands No website needed no product needed and go out and build your own website and create a real business that you can actually grow.

Choosing the right Web Hosting package for you can be a bewildering task. With so many packages, prices, terms, conditions, companies and countries vying for your business, it’s important that you understand what you need, so you can choose a company who can give you what you want.

So here’s a list of the major types of Web Hosting available on the market – what they are, and what they’re suitable for. And to make it a bit easier, we’ll follow the
* Dave's career, a budding Web entrepreneur his first forays into the world of web hosting.

Free Hosting

Free hosting is just that, and despite the old adage "you get what you pay for use" not just – as you know are getting something, after all – Free website hosting is not recommended for anyone serious efforts to Their. Of course, we offer Web>Hosting so we would say that, right? Well, the two main things to consider when looking at Free Hosting are 1 – someone has to pay for it, and 2 – what happens if something goes wrong.

With regards to the first point, it’s often the case that your Web Hosting is paid for by advertisements on your site, and as that is what makes the Web Host their money, they could well be as interested in advertising on your site as they You always use their service, so you have more publicity. This leads to step two – What do you think will support a free society, that is something for you? What guarantees can you be sure your web hosting is reliable or safe?

It 'also common practice for Internet Service Providers (ISPs) also offer free digital hosting as part of a package with other services (such as broadband orTV). These are better solutions as they obviously come attached to a reputable (well…) company, and will be able to provide support. Again, though, remember that it is their other service that pay for your Hosting – the Hosting is an enticing extra. Support may well suffer, too, if the company specialises in other products and services.

Some companies, for instance Blogger, will offer free online spaces for specific sites (in Blogger’s case, you get a free online blog). However, you’re limited to what you can do with the templates they give you, and you won’t be able to expand your site or even have your own domain name. So, only go for Free Hosting if you are completely satisfied that the company will be able to provide you with what you want. We wouldn’t advise choosing Free Hosting for a business-related site in any circumstance!

In Dave’s instance, he has been given some Free Hosting as part of a deal with his ISP. Dave’s never made a website of his own before, and he’s certainly never had any Web Hosting. He’s interested but a bit lost, and manages to build a basic, personal site with only a few difficulties. He stumbles across WordPress and finds that he doesn’t get any databases with his Free Hosting. As the Hosting is part of his package – and free – his ISP don’t have any facility Update your account. Dave decides he wants in his blog on the Internet, and after talking with one of his friends on Blogger and dreamy thinking maybe starting a business online, some Web hosting companies to see contact Dave, what was available.

Shared Hosting

This is the most common web hosting available. A company should establish one or more servers to provide Web hosting and their customers in turn be usedpay for a portion of that server and share it with other customers. So a server may be responsible for several hundred web sites at a time.

Shared Hosting has many advantages. It is the cheapest form of commercial Hosting, as the cost of the server can be offset by the many customers who can use it at once. They don’t require advanced technical knowledge to use and you only need to administer your account – at no point do you have anything to do with the server. As it is a paid solution you will have access to customer support, a contract, uptime guarantees and so on.

The disadvantage is that, as you are sharing a server with other customers, you are also sharing the resources of that server. The server, just like a home PC, has only so much memory, CPU and disk space available, and if other customers are using it heavily – or if the Web Host has put too many people on the server – or even if the server isn’t particularly fast in the first place! – you may well find that your web site appears to be slow.

You will also find that Shared Hosting doesn’t allow a lot of the advanced, powerful features that higher end options present to you. There is a slight increase in security risk, too, as you can never be sure how secure your ‘neighbours’ are – but bear in mind that the server will be very secure in the first place, and the risk is not something to be alarmed about.

So our friend Dave starts out with a very simple Web Hosting package, with a little web space and a database. He installs WordPress and starts to blog seriously, and then decides he wants to start his online business. With his basic account he commissions a Web Design Company to build him an eCommerce site, with his blog built in as one of the features. As his store grows, he finds that he can expand his site fairly easily, without having to Concerns about the limits, as with the ISP.

Shared Hosting is ideal for most sites and users. With few exceptions, only people who want their own server and / or control over the content, you still need something. Said Dave, how many people are happy, until he decides to nail his work, and go full time with its e-commerce site. At this point, which is a bit 'more knowledge of web hosting is now regarded as Davethere is anything he can do to improve his site.

Reseller Hosting

Reseller Hosting is a generic term that applies to several different kinds of Web Hosting. It isn’t a definition of the kind of Web Hosting on offer, as such, as the kind of person offering it.

A Hosting Reseller purchases a larger Web Hosting account from a Web Hosting company, and in turn sells portions of their account to their own customers. They are essentially providing the services of a Web Hosting company, without having to set up and finance the expensive hardware and the maintenance of it themselves. This kind of Web Hosting is popular with, for example, start-up Web Hosting businesses, companies with a large portfolio of sites, and Web Design companies wanting to offer Hosting to their clients.

A Hosting Reseller may be offering Shared, VPS or Dedicated solutions (see part two). Customers tend to benefit from cheaper Web Hosting as a Reseller often purchases their Web Hosting at a discount. The only major drawback with Reseller Hosting is that the Reseller is also a customer of the company they have bought their Hosting off of in the first place. The more advanced the Hosting they are offering, the more support the Reseller can give you directly – but as a customer of a Reseller, it is possible that you will contact the Reseller about a technical fault, who will then in turn have to contact his or her Hosting company.

Reseller Hosting is only of use to Dave if he decides to sell Hosting to other people, or expand his business with a large portfolio of other sites. If he wasn’t looking to do either of these he’d probably stick with Shared Hosting – as it is the most common form of Hosting it is also the most popular, and he’d get more use out of it. For now though, Dave thinks he is happy with a single site, he would just prefer to have more control and performance as his site is getting quite busy and he has a few demanding redesign plans in mind. So, in the second part of this article, we’ll look at some of the more advanced Web Hosting options available to Dave (and you, of course).

*Dave is not real. He is just for illustrative purposes only, and any resemblance to any Dave or any events that have happened to any Dave, living, dead or otherwise, is purely coincidental.

A web site building tool is a useful device that people and companies involve in online marketing might want to get for themselves. These tools are designed to increase the number of visitors to a web site. Online traffic is the most important factor in an online presence, particularly for entities that are trying to sell something and are getting their profits from offering products and services.

There are a number of traffic building tools that are available in the market, ranging from software packages to hosting services to link building programs. Some of them are highlighted below.

Software for building online traffic can range from products that create popup advertisements to promotion software that submit the site to Internet directories to programs with link building capabilities. One example of the last kind is the Dynamic Link Promoter from Apex which links sites over the Internet. It works by helping the Web master maintain links and generate new ones from search engines.

There are also software programs that focus on content management to make the Web site fit for search engine requirements. Others, like the Traffic Travis SEO software, specialize in search engine optimization and have functions that can include analyzing backlinks, finding keywords and providing analysis tools.

Some traffic building services also offer wholesale web hosting. These services require the Web master to pay a certain fee to get his site linked to the provider’s hosting source. Some firms even allow owners to buy and resell hosting services once access is granted. Another form of traffic building service is the search engine submission type. With this, the buyer or the webmasteris charged with a fee to get his site listed in search engines and Internet directories. The higher the package or fee, the higher the search engine ranking is supposed to be.

When it comes to paid traffic, pay per click (PPC) is probably the most popular type of service. PPC is a marketing tool wherein a Web master is charged for every user or visitor who clicks on his site. Another type of link building is syndication, wherein site owners syndicate their articles at popular online publishers where traffic is mostly high.

A web site traffic building tool is not an assurance that a Web master will automatically have his site at the top of the popular list. These tools are mere supplements. They can help generate visitors, but they cannot make a site number one on their own nor can they generate sales and profits for the site operator.

You may be a small business owner who already has a website that is under-performing. You may be a work-at-home mom (or dad) who wants to earn extra income for your family. You may be a net-savvy internet marketer who wants to take their affiliate or information marketing to the next level. No matter what you want to do online you are likely going to need to know how to build a website that works.

When it comes to building websites there is a lot of confusion about the best way to go. However, it’s important to decide what your goal is before you begin. Yes, even before you register a domain name!

If you just want to “put up a website” and don’t care about whether or not it gets any traffic or has any potential to earn you an income, that’s easy. There are many free services that will let you create a personal website to share stories and pictures of the grand-kids.

On the other hand, if you want to create a website that generates leads or revenue you will want to do a bit more planning.

Most Websites Fail, But It Doesn’t Have to Be That Way!

The harsh reality is that most websites fail. In fact, many beautifully designed websites that have cost thousands (or more) to develop are complete flops.

You may have fallen victim to such a website. You poured your heart and soul (and money) into a website project and then it just sat there on the web like a virtual lump, a ghost-site where you could almost hear the wind whistling and see the tumbleweeds blowing by.

This happens to the vast majority of websites and it leaves their owners frustrated, angry and broke. After wasting so much time and money they give up in disgust and declare that it’s impossible to succeed online.

It’s true that there are many pitfalls and gotchas on the web. If you don’t know how to build a website that works and the stages of planning that go into developing a successful site how can you expect your website to draw traffic, generate leads or ever earn you any income?

How To Build a Website With a Solid Foundation

It may sound obvious, but when you build your website you will need to start at the beginning. The beginning, “that’s my domain name, right?”, “that’s getting a designer to build a snazzy site, right?”, “that’s making sure to find the right products and add a store, right?”. Wrong, wrong and wrong.

Sorry, but that is the recipe for disaster that most website owners follow… with predictable results. Getting a name, a great location and filling a store with products may work for a traditional offline retail business but it will get you nowhere fast on the web.

Your site has to begin with your visitor. The person you want to attract to your website. You will have to first find out what they want and then, and this is important to find what they want.

That brings up another point. Nobody cares about you online, your website or your company. Online customers are just people with a problem to find a solution. In short, this is information to help them try to solve their problem.

Care and maintenance of the search engine spiders

If most of us have Google search for information on the Web, we rely on search engines like to help usfind what we are looking for. Your customer will also enter search terms (or keywords) into Google when they are searching for information related to your business. That is where your website needs to begin.

The best strategy is to do keyword research to find out what phrases your customers are searching for, then optimize pages on your website so that search engines rank them highly for those keywords. For example you might sell a dog training program. In this case you might find that the phrase “dog training” is a popular search term. However, you would also find that it is highly competitive and that many other websites have pages about “dog training”.

Keyword Research: Your Foundation of Success

This is where using keyword research tools such as those included with Site Build It! (SBI!) are critical to your success. SBI! provides the #1 website researching, building, hosting and marketing tools in the world. Included in SBI! is the keyword research tool called Brainstorm It!

Using the information provided by Brainstorm It! you might see, for example, that the phrases “dog training course” and “dog behavior problem” might also be popular but have much less competition.

With this marketing intelligence you would build and optimize pages on your website around these profitable keywords. Your pages will then be specifically related to what your customer is looking for and search engines will rank them highly because they are directly relevant to the search terms used by your customers.

Using the same approach you would expand on your core website theme adding sub-categories of pages based around keywords that your research shows are popular and have a chance of being ranked well by Google.

Don’t Skip the Fundamentals

This is the beginning of how to build a website that works. So, the foundation of any successful website is quality original content that has been optimized to rank highly with search engines for winnable keywords. If you just skimmed that last sentence read it again because it is very important. If you do that right your website will begin to attract free search engine traffic.

Free traffic is good. Paying for traffic has it’s place but first you need to have a solid foundation of a website that draws its own free traffic. This is another fatal mistake website owners make. They skip the research, don’t have quality original content, don’t optimize their pages for highly targeted keywords and are then forced to rely entirely on expensive traffic they have to “rent” through paid advertising. Ouch! Those expenses can torpedo your chances of success.

While lots of traffic is good it isn’t worth anything if you can’t convert those visitors into customers or leads. You’ve probably noticed that I haven’t even mentioned earning money from your website yet. It’s still too soon. First you need to get to the next critical stage of how to build a website that works. Building a relationship with your visitors and preselling them. You really don’t want to try to hard-sell your visitors at this point.

Do Your Visitors Know, Like and Trust You?

Imagine you have walked into a retail store and are immediately ambushed by rabid sales reps asking how much you want to spend. It’s off-putting and would likely make you want to run for the door. The same is true on your website. Ask yourself who you would rather buy from or accept the recommendations of; a hard-sell pitch artist or a respected friend?

You can’t be everyone’s best friend on the internet, of course, but there are ways that you can build an ongoing relationship and develop credibility with your visitors. The first step is to provide excellent content and make a good first impression. You can also provide a free e-course, a newsletter or e-book that they can download. Provide something of real value.

You can use an email autoresponder to set up a simple 5 part mini-course. This is a great way to show your knowledge and build your reputation with your customer. Again, don’t assault them with sales letters. Instead, use your mini-course to share real information of value. Toward the end of the course you can make an offer or recommendation. You might also ask them to join your newsletter list.

Your List is Your Lifeblood

You’ve put a lot of effort in and learned how to build a website that draws traffic. It would be a real shame to have visitors come to your website once and then leave, never to return again. That’s another reason why creating a newsletter is so important to your website’s success. In fact, some internet marketing experts make building their mailing list their #1 priority. The importance of building your mailing list cannot be stressed enough.

You heard me mention SBI! earlier because of their Brainstorm It! keyword research tool. Well, here is another reason to consider developing your website with SBI! SBI! includes the functionality you will need to add forms with autoresponders (for your mini-courses) as well as a newsletter builder complete with double opt-in functionality.

As far as how to build a website that works without using the tools and support included with SBI! goes, it is possible. However, it would likely wind up costing you a great deal more in both time and expenses. For example, there are third party tools for keyword research and autoresponder/newsletter capabilities but the cost of just these two tools alone could cost more than SBI! and SBI! includes far, far more tools than these.

In some cases the third party versions will offer advanced features but for the majority of websites they are overkill and are just too expensive. SBI! provides the core functionality that is needed by most website owners to build a solid, professional, profitable online business.

However, the principles involved in how to build a website that works are the same regardless of whether or not you use the all-in-one tools provided by SBI! or if you decide to go it alone and hobble together an expensive array of third party tools. SBI! is not the only approach, it’s just the best approach that I’ve found – especially for beginners, those who don’t have technical programming skills or those who don’t have a lot of time and money to waste.

What You’ve Been Waiting For – Monetization!

By now you’ve researched your market niche, planned your site around in-demand keywords, optimized your pages to get high ranking with Google, earned the trust and respect of your visitors and you are now ready to be rewarded for your efforts.

If you already have a business and are using your website to sell your products or services you already know your primary source of revenue. However, there are many ways to earn income from your website. For example, if you are a real estate agent your primary goal will be to generate leads and gain new clients. However, you might also be able to earn from referrals to lawyers, moving companies, home decorators, etc.

If you offer local art lessons you could join an affiliate program and earn a percentage on sales of art supplies or you could create your own how-to-draw or how-to-paint e-books and offer them for sale through your website.

Those of you who use SBI! will know that SBI! not only gives you a powerful set of tools to research, build, host and market your site, but it also gives you a step-by-step guide that shows you exactly what you need to do, when to do it and why. So when you were planning your site you will have already been considering the future monetization Potential of your niche market.

Others have done and you can too!

Who has a hobby, special interest or knowledge of the work can create a site to this problem and develop a website profitable. Once you know how to build your website revenues to work, and draws more traffic streams add one, you can … Affiliate programs to sell, sell their products or services, referrals, net auctions, advertising (like Google AdSense), and manymore.

I hope I’ve been able to show you how to build a website that works. It is possible! Whether you already have a website or are just thinking of building an online business for the first time you can succeed with a little planning, the right tools and a bit of guidance.

The biggest problem in choosing a web host is to always have one is better by hosting free web hosting and domain web at low cost.

The word free is always attractive, but not every body. If you are serious site make money with your mine, which will be beneficial for your website that you are housed in its own platform paid. Although free web hosting is ratherpopular but be mindful of the fact that the company that hosts your site free on the internet will not be accountable to you in any way. There have been cases of frequent downtime and slow connection in some of the free web hosting packages. The worst may be that the site you had labored to build and freely host may just crash and all the data you have in it will disappear without you having any means of retrieving them,.

Apart from the fact that you will not hold the company that offers you free web host liable for any eventuality to your site, it is vital for you to know that search engines do not give priority to such free web hosted sites as they are regarded them as sub domains. The search engines will start their crawling from the root of the main site and normally ‘spiders out’ through the links on the home page. This means that the possibility of your website hosted free crawled "by search engine robots is very minimal. This' be on your site's largest exhibition of the Internet.

If only a "tiny presence" on the Internet is your goal, then you may consider a free web host, but if your idea is the Internet to make money, it is advisable to obtain a network of low cost accommodation. Cheap Now, Internet hosts from less than $ 4month and this will afford you the independence to do what you desire with you site based on the limits of the host package you chose. This is a departure from the free web host where you do not have any influence on what happens to your site and the amount of space and bandwidth you will use.

If your budget is really low and you desire to have your site now, it is better you consider cheap web host instead of a <b > Free Web Host web hosting plan with low cost, have. The ability to upgrade to larger and more complex hosting package if you want. For example, if you notice that visitors to your web site hosted grow cheap, all you do is just ask your web hosting company to give more space and bandwidth. The money you have to pay for such upgrades usually small.

The above discussionis very important if you are currently considering free web host. We also forgot to mention that with most cheap web host, you have some nice applications that will help you to design and upload your website stress free. This is important here because some free web host companies are smart enough to use easy web design applications to lure you to their net. It is not too bad if the purpose of your site is for leisure but if it is for serious business, it pays more to register your domain and have your site hosted. This has been made very easy these days in the competitive world of hosting companies. The hosting company that will offer you cheap, quality and response hosting packages is just a click away. Give it a try today and you will notice it will be cheaper for you at the long run.

Free web hosting has been very popular in the hosting industry as it provides a free start up opportunity for website builders to try it out in the internet. Although free web hosting do have limitations, they are still very popular among users.

Out of so many free web hosting providers out there, one of the most popular providers is Yahoo Geocities which provides interfaces with HTML for you to upload your files. This is an added feature that they have because not all free providers provide you with an FTP program. Most people do not like choosing free web hosting because of this limitation.

With the FTP application, one can easily copy and paste your content onto your web space. This is a very simple procedure that everyone could do. If you do not have access to FTP, uploading files will be tough and time consuming because you have to do it once for every single file you have.

Another limitation with free web hosting is the lack of freedom in your URL name. You would often need o include the names of the provider. For an example, if you are using Geocities, then your URL will be geocities.com/yourwebsitename/. This is a way that th free provider company use to help promote their services. Therefore, it is impossible for you to own your own domain with a free web hosting plan.

However, there are benefits to gain when you use a free hosting service. Firstly, you can use free online tools to build your website. To find a free web hosting you can simply just search any search engine and you will find many free hosting provider that provides services for non-profit organization, businesses or even for personal use. You can search for the service that they provide to see whether it matches you preferences or not before you start to use that free web.

So, before you start anything serious on the internet. Try one of these free web hosting plans to test out your niche and see how good you fair in the SEO. Get the maximum out of the free web with FTP uploads, ready made templates, scripts and so on.
